Isaac on Thanksgiving

Isaac is now 10 weeks old. He’s starting to develop a personality and become a little person. Pretty soon, we can really start to take some pictures. I know a lot of photographers do wonders taking photos of newborns…but not me. I’m learning…but the fun for me will start when he can sit up….still a few months to go til then.

I had the good luck to photograph Abigail’s first birthday party. Her family was in the process of moving from Arizona to Illinois and with their residence in flux, they held Abigail’s party in Raliegh at her aunt’s house. She’s a sweet and active little girl and she was truly a lot of fun to follow around and photograph.

We had a great time this past saturday visting with my nephew, Max and niece Dylan.

Rylan is 7 months old and has great blue eyes. I photographed him with his mom, dad and grandparents over the weekend. It was very hot and Rylan wanted little part of the whole affair, but he did well overall and we got some very nice photos. This is my favorite of him.

This is one of the pics from the big birthday party. Sophia is amazingly expressive and she plays to the camera (or maybe to Uncle Brian) in ways that are priceless. Next to my daughter, Sophia is definitely my favorite subject.

Sophia’s 1st B-day

Sophia has just turned one and we were at her birthday bash. She is without a doubt one of the cutest and most engaging babies I have ever known. The birtdhay party was a marathon event, some 5 plus hours long for her and the family as we set up, partied, and packed up the cars with her presents and left over cake. This was followed by an after-party for several hours more back at the house. And the little girl was awake (and smiling) for over 8 hours or reveling. Amazing. This shot is actually from the next morning, just before we left for the airport.

This is sofie at about 6 months. I haven’t had a chance to gather up the shots of my niece and nephew yet, but thought I’d add this shot of Sofie (as opposed to my niece, Sophia) to add some samples to my Babies section. I have another baby shoot (with parents and grandparents) coming up in a few weeks too. I love working with babies as they are so expressive and natural. It helps that babies seem to like me and react to me in a way that makes for great images.

We are off later today to attend my niece, Sophia’s, first birtday party. This is a picture I took of her (with a point-n-shoot) on Christmas morning last year. She is an adorable baby with great big eyes and I am bringing my D300 to get some photos of her and my nephew (Ryan) who turned 4 earlier this month.
