Ava loves her new baby sister Sophie.  You can see it in the way Ava lights up when she is with her.  This was another candid captured moment and may be my favorite image of the day.

A Mother’s Touch

This quick candid of Ava arranging her bracelets while her mom brushed the hair from her eyes is the kind of moment I just love to catch. Sweet and loving. Simple and clear. It’s what I like most about photographing kids in their own environment (instead of against some backdrop in a studio). While it’s hard to keep the backdgrounds uncluttered and not distracting, it’s worth the effort (and even worth overlooking a little background clutter) to get moments like this one.

 Sophie is an adorable six week old baby girl and the little sister of Ava.

I had the chance to shoot Ava and her 6 week old sister, Sophie, this morning. Ava was great..always moving. This is one of only a few still moments I was able to capture. I’ll have more of Ava and her new sister to follow. But this is my personal favorite from the day’s shoot.

Otter

Otter is 13 (will be 14 in January). She’s a sweet old girl and I was taking some test shots the other day with a new lens and took this one of Otter. Just thought I’d share. Rosie has been on this blog a few times, but I don’t remember ever posting a shot of Otter. Now I have.
