Back to Work
After the week at the beach, it was back to work. I saw this man building a big sand lion while I was out walking the beach one afternoon. He was hard at work…and was still at it nearly an hour later when I walked back past him on the way home.
Grandma’s Shoes
I took this shot of Grandma Sylvia’s shoes sitting on the pool deck. I like the tonality and textural detail of this photo along with the interesting shadow being cast by the deck rail.
Molly and Dylan had a blast
I took this during one of our walks along the beach to find shells for a craft project Aunt Robin was doing with the kids.
Max and his dad by the sea
I love this profile of Max holding his dad’s finger. They were walking on the beach and he seems intent on what’s ahead…which is a theme that I captured over and over. Max is determined to go where he’s headed.
Max again…
Max was so much fun to follow around with the camera. Lots of great expressions…but this shot of him on the deck with a whiffle ball is maybe my favorite.
Relaxing in Topsail
We had a great time at the beach and now we are happy to be home. I took this photo of Molly last Saturday about an hour after we arrived at the beach.
Sunday at the Beach
Topsail island is treating us very well. These two are staying at the house next door (and I’ve been approached by their grandma to do some portraits of them later in the week) and were just too cute not to poach. I noticed their mom watching me so walked over and introduced myself and gave her my card. I told her I wasn’t trying to sell anything, just that if she emailed me, I’d send her the pics of her kids I’d taken. About 20 minutes later the grandmother came up to our deck to ask if she could hire me to shoot some portraits later during the week. Got lots of good stuff of Molly and my niece and nephew…but this image may be my favorite from day one.
Molly High Key Fashion
This shot is from over a year ago…been cleaning out my photo catalog to make room and came across this image deep in the archives. I love how clear and bright her eyes are here.
